Similar to last year with fast tests. A 15 min karting session has been arranged to add a bit of fun to it all.

As always these are provisional until any errors are sorted.

Please remember to claim for points if you are registered for the one sport championships. There are competitors out there who have done events that others have done but not claimed.

Please also remember to claim within 28 days. E-mail is musch better than post. If I miss your email you can still prove you sent it to me so laong as you save your sent mails.  When you claim please stae your class, so I can find you on the results, and your position in the class results and how many starters.  this speeds up processing.

I have had a few occasions when results only have been sent and sometimes they don’t include any details of the event such as name, date, club etc. Please  send me the details of the event, that includes the regs to prove Owen was invited or not, the entry list if the results don’t show all starters.  this is to your advantage as the more starters the more points you get!  EG if you got 3rd out of 5 finishers you get less points than 3rd out of 7 starters.

This is the first time we will have done this and so is a great incentive to boost the entries.

This is exciting in itself because it is a new location. It is an all forward event costing £20 per entry. Hopefully we shall see lots of Owen entries. Regs will be emailed to members

We shall be seeing David on the Ernest Owen and hopefully future road rallies.

He should have entered the Junior Sponsorship scheme. Maybe next year?

Also Mike had the brilliant idea some years ago of having one test around the oval  which  proved to be great with both competitors and those watching.

This year the morning session  was three separate tests round the oval, and in the afternoon one test which was the length of the oval, competitors having 3 separate attempts at each test

FTD went to Richard Pinkney from the North-East in a Caterham 7 with a time of 638.5 and second was David Thompson travelling from Ireland overnight in an immaculate Nova in a time of 655.0.  Both these drivers had the cars going every which way with their faultless driving.  All the classes were hard fought.

Personally though, of all the classes, I thought that Class D was the most competitive with  Duncan Wild taking first place in 680.8, second was Malcolm Livingston in 681.0 and third was Keith Walton in 681.3.

Only 2 OMC members took part in this event, Rob Rolston and Richard Yapp.  Rob finished 14th in a time of 763.2 but Richard unfortunately retired with, I think, sub-frame mounting trouble.

The entry was a it down on last year but from what I hear this is general for most clubs.

All told I found this was a very interesting event, well organised by Mike and of course many thanks go to the marshals.
