I hope you like the new format for our website. Those of you who are familiar with the previous version that is! This is has been created using the well known blogging software, “WordPress”. Why change? I thought, and it had been suggested, that club members should be able to contribute to the content. I feel that it is not necessarily my job to create the content of this site. Although I will add some. Blogging allows members to contribute. See below for more guidelines.

It is easy to register as a contributor to the site. Posts, what you write, appear in chronological order. You can set post to allow others to comment on your story or not. Moderators, volunteers please, read the posts, possibly edit them then publish them. Experienced contributors can be given greater permissions so that their posts can be published without the editor step.

Whats the difference between this site and the forum? There could be none. That would be up to the editors. It is intended that this be the main information about the club, its activities and what its members get up to in a more serious/formal way than happens with the forum. This is more like and electronic magazine.

Use this to write about the club, its events and activities. Help me to complete the content for the links on the menus.

Use this to write about the motorsport or classic car activities you get up to. Its a good way to show potential sponsors, or current ones even, what you do.

Write reasonably long articles. Try to keep to normal conventions on spelling and grammar. If you still want to contribute but are not sure about your writing skills don’t worry. It will be edited first.

Remember, don’t write anything you wouldn’t want your mother or granny to read !! 8-)
